What would you do if you see a drowning dog? Jump in and try to rescue him, right? What if you don’t know how to swim? Sarwan Singh, 28, was driving his car in Punjab, India when he noticed a dog having a hard time in an irrigation canal. There were several people nearby, but no one was doing anything to help the dog.

Sarwan got out of his car, took off his turban (orange one in the video) and used a yellow cloth to help get the dog out! Sarwan doesn’t know how to swim. Turbans, in the Sikh religion, are important symbols, men and women wear turbans. It is an official policy of the Sikhs. It is worn as a symbol of respect for their hair, which is God’s creation.

Devout Sikhs do not cut their hair or beards. Sarwan wasn’t disrespecting his faith – he was saving a life! Well, done Sarwan! Share away, people!
