Moo! Cows were first brought to the United States in 1611. They produce most of the milk you see in the grocery store. Cows can be milked for 3-4 years, but only after having a calf. Fawn’s mother was chained in a milking stall, went into labor, and gave birth to Fawn. Because the momma cow was standing, Fawn fell to the concrete and fractured her knee (before she even had a chance to stand on her own!).

Her leg became infected and had never healed properly. Jennifer, from Woodstock Farm Sanctuary, helped get Fawn treated. A veterinarian at Cornell operated on both Fawn’s front legs (multiple times), and she is on the road to recovery! In the video, we see Fawn making her appearance with braces on.

She gets therapy every day and can now walk on her own! She even does a cow ‘happy dance’ you just have to see! Aww, you go girl! Share away, people!
