Many parents probably fear that their child will fall off playground equipment and break an arm or a leg. A lot of us don’t stop to think about more hidden dangers that may be lurking around playgrounds. In Grandbury, Texas, Kiley Cook, 2, was bitten by a copperhead snake while playing on her school’s playground!

Nataly Horn, Kiley’s mother, was at the school when Kiley was bitten, she was able to get help quickly. Kiley got immediate treatment after being flown to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Even though Kiley’s hand, fingers, and arm had gotten very swollen, she has recovered! Parents and school teachers everywhere should check the playground or backyard before letting the children play.
