Parents often help their children buy their first car, or buy them one as a gift. Joel Smith decided to purchase a car for his parents – but it wasn’t just any car! Joe and Beverly Smith had owned a 1948 Plymouth Convertible. When Joe was drafted to fight in the Korean War, they had to sell the car.

Over the years, Joe and Beverly would reminisce about the car and all the wonderful memories they shared with it. Before the couple’s 60th wedding anniversary, their son Joel came up with the idea of getting them a 1948 Plymouth Convertible! Easier said than done! There were only four he could find, one was in a museum, and the two others were not for sale.

The last one was on an expired Craigslist ad – Joel was able to buy it, fix it, up and give it to his surprised parents! Share away, people!
