Time and again we hear stories of people raising wild animals as if they were domesticated pets. Sometimes, the stories turn out well and the animal is well-cared for and thrives. Other stories don’t have happy endings; when people realize they can’t handle the wild animals, they are abandoned. Sadly, having been around people, these animals don’t have the skills to survive in the wild.

Sarah, who had rescued wolves before, was given an 8-week-old wolf pup that was starving and close to death. The little pup was still wearing a harness that looked like it had been made for her. Sarah named the pup Lakomi and did her best to nurse her back to health. It wasn’t easy, it took Lakomi a long time to trust people again. In the video, we see a happy and healthy Lakomi!

She was recently spayed, and the fur on her belly is still growing back. Share away, people!
